REACh - Update 2009 Print

With the expiration of the 'pre-registration' deadline on 1st December 2008, all European chemical producers and importers must now abide by the new EU Regulation No. 1907/2006 - REACh (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals).

From the 1st December 2008 all chemical substances, preparations and articles used or imported within the European Union in excess of 1Mt/annum, require either a 'pre-registration' number ('phase-in' periods shown below) or full product registration. Products that have been 'pre-registered' with the ECHA (European Chemical Agency), can make use of a 'phase-in' period, for sale or use within the European Union. Any chemical substance that has not been that has not been 'pre-registered' is liable to full product registration prior to use within the European Union.

SIP's REACh implementation team are pleased to confirm that all of SIP's products have been 'pre-registered', and are fully available within the scope of the new legislation. Should a product 'pre-registration' number be needed, or any further information be required, please contact us.

Over the coming months SIP will be contacting customers to ensure that all relevant information required for the complete product registration is obtained and accurate. Any information on substance use, risk and exposure scenarios will be gathered to ensure comprehensive compliance with the regulation. Rest assured that SIP will address any obligation required by REACh.
