ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System: SIP's New Accreditation Print

SIP LTD. are pleased to announce that they have been granted accreditation for the new ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems (QMS). Mike Peters, SIP's Quality Assurance Manager, believes that SIP are one of the first companies in the European oil and chemical industry to be registered to the new classification. He said that maintaining this important quality system is significant for a company like SIP, who have flourished over the last 20 years by providing a high quality service to customers, both large and small.

ISO systems set the standard for companies who wish to succeed through improved customer ISO 9001:2008satisfaction, staff motivation and continual improvement. One of the first QMS was introduced 30 years ago when the UK Standard BS 5750 was issued. This was adopted by the International Standards Organisation (ISO) in 1987, modified in 1994 and again in 2000 when three standards were combined into one as ISO 9001:2000. Since that time, this has become the most widely used quality system in the world, accepted by almost 90,000 organisations, in 170 countries.

The new ISO 9001:2008 introduces clarifications to the existing requirements and many changes intended to improve consistency with the Environmental Management System, ISO 14001:2004
